Credit Score Coaching

Credit Coaching helps clients understand and improve their credit scores by providing personalized guidance on how to manage their finances and credit more effectively. We offer free credit coaching to active clients on our Debt Management Program.

Do you know your credit score? When is the last time you ordered a copy of your credit report?

We keep our approach at DebtWave straightforward.

First, we analyze your financials the day you enrolled with us. We take a look at your starting debt compared to what it is now. In most cases, your debt decreased as long as you have made your payments consistently with us.

Next, we will evaluate credit scores. We’ll pull your credit. This is a soft pull. Meaning it won’t negatively affect your credit score. This allows our credit coach to access your recent credit report to use as a basis for the credit analysis. We look at your score when you enrolled on the program and compare it to what it is now. We speculate what caused the change. Hopefully, the score increased thanks to lower debt amounts. But in some cases, the score may decrease from an account not on the debt management program going to collections. Or perhaps, new accounts were opened whether it’s a car loan or more credit cards.

And finally, we’ll discuss what improvements can be made today to improve your credit score even further. Maybe there are more accounts to add to the program? Perhaps we have a solution to an old cell phone bill that is ruining your credit?

We will also work toward achieving your financial goals.

Our Coaching Makes it Simple

For many of us, the world of finance can be confusing, hard-to-navigate, and is filled with acronyms and terminology that can leave you confused. Most of us don’t bother to order a copy of our credit report or track our credit score unless we’re making a big financial decision such as buying a home or ensuring identity thieves haven’t opened additional lines of credit in our name.

Credit scores are indeed important. However, thou shalt not covet thy credit score. Paying down credit card debt is far more important. A good credit score increases your chances of getting a loan, obtaining an apartment and qualifying for better interest rates. But a good credit score gets you into debt. So be careful. Refrain from opening new accounts if possible. Use cash instead!
